RCDC 2019

Rally Car Design Challenge (RCDC) is an engineering design challenge for the budding new engineers of the country. This is India’s first challenge in which engineering students will be coming in contact and participating with professional motorsports people.

The main aim of RCDC is to train students about how the automobile industry works so teams will have to work and function like an automotive company in which they develop this product and launch it in the market and sell. So, to check these things there will be continues assessments like – sales report, cost report, business plan and in which our professional team of mentors will be training them on how to improve those.

The target for the team was to design a two-seater buggy that is aesthetically and ergonomically sound and is fun and durable.

The Desert Eagle

• Custom tuned Maruthi 800 engine (for best performance)
• Custom driveshaft
• Polaris COF suspension (for reliability and travel)
• Ground clearance of 12 inches to overcome any obstacles and endure any course
• Custom developed suspension by converting Double Wishbone to McPhearson strut, so that we get a rigid, heavy-duty system, mated with a custom part to the knuckle of an OEM strut to prevent damage
• In-house developed chassis with a very high Factor Of Safety, provided with crumple zones, considering the ergonomics of the Driver and Navigator to make it easy for them to come out of the vehicle within 5 seconds of a crash
• In-house custom designed livery, considered to be one of the best looking cars in the whole event
